  Rally Against Proposition 8

         "What do we want? Equal Rights! When do we want it? Now!" This chant could be heard throughout the morning as protesters demonstrated and marched at City Hall from 10:30 till past noon.
        The demonstration was a response to the passage of Proposition 8, which amended the California constitution to ban same-sex marriage. "This protest will help bring attention to this issue," said John, a San Fransisco resident.  " I think the public was misled by the idea that we would be teaching gay marriage in schools and that churches would be forced to wed gays."
